Framing it correctly, or even encasing it, is very important to use acid free materials, avoid exposure to moisture and mount each item correctly to avoid any deterioration.
If you are not 100% comfortable with your framer, ask questions about the processes used and/or ask to see axamples of completed work - any good framer will have photos or samples of similar items for a reference.
