Photographer Work Description
Main Style: 1)Macro nature photography.
2)Landscapes.
3)Aviation.
Style: The beauty of nature is incredibly surreal, so I want to portray unique & thought provoking images of my subjects. I am persistent & passionate about my work & subject matter. I aim to present them as intimate portraits, revealing them in perhaps unexpected new ways. Their various forms are also often featured in my surreal paintings.
Qualifications & Experience
In the 1980's & 90's, I worked as a camera/scanner operator/colour planner in the printing industry. I travelled through Europe in the 1980's photographing some of the great landscapes. I have learnt through
experimenting & discovery & through sharing with fellow photographers. In the 1980's, aviation photography inspired me greatly & I hope to do more of this whenever possible. I have also had some experience with air-to-air photography.
Other Interests:
As a professional artist & photographer, I thrive on a huge range of interests. Landscape painting, surrealism (inspired by the surreal qualities within Creation) & historical subjects form the main body of my artwork. Sculpture & scale modelling work are also of interest due to my love & appreciation of finely created forms. I believe that the Glory of God is evident in the science of all created things. I aim to portray a deeper insight & revelation into all my art & photography subjects.

Ray Giles began art studies at the tender age of nine. By his mid twenties, Ray realised that his passion for painting could become a life long career. For more than two decades he dedicated himself to the traditional style producing landscape paintings of such superior quality, that he is placed among Australia's best. Ray Giles is an Australian artist of renown; the Blue Mountains - his home and his inspiration.
Ray's large paintings are highly collectable. In these, he transports the viewer to the windswept plateau, to the rugged cliff face, to the cascading waterfalls - to the heart and soul of the Blue Mountains. He is able to transpose the majesty of this spectacular landscape to the large canvas and this has attracted both Australian and International collectors
Rays works are also acclaimed by the art community. He rarely enters competitions, but when he does he makes an impact.
