Charity Fundraising

Supporting various charity organisations has been a large part of our existence at Pro-Frame Design. We have had a long standing association with Nepean Medical Research Foundation and Children's Cancer Welfare Services, along with a number of smaller charities and individual fundraisers in need of help.

Last year we ran a couple of raffles in order to raise much needed funds for Fred Pham ( a teacher from Fairfield High School ) whom was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer. We managaed to raise over $5000 for Fred and his family, and help releave a little of the financial stress, Fred had resting on his shoulders.

This year we turn to another individual in need of help.

Little Isobel Lister, has Cerebral Palsy. At just two and a half, Isobel has had more surgery, to fix her many health issues, than most of us would see in two life times. Izzy's mum and dad want what every parent wants, and that is to give their kids the best opportunties life has to offer.

They are currently raising funds to take Izzy to Germany for possible life altering treatment. The trip will cost them $50,000, and the treatment, Stem Cell Therapy ( which basically consists of her own stem cells removed from her  bone marrow, put through a treatment, which wil turn them into Super Stem Cells, then injected back into her body). The new super cells help to repair the damaged receptors that tell the body

Almost 70% of the cerebral palsy patients treated with stem cells at the Germany Centre show improvement.

Follow up statistics from 100 cerebral palsy patients completed in March 2010 show that close to 67% experienced improvements after stem cell therapy. The type of improvements reported include: decreased spasticity; better coordination; improved motor function, improved posture stability; better cognition resulting in communication improvements; gaining the ability to sit, stand or even walk unassisted.

Improved speech was observed in 56% of patients. 43% reported a decrease or even absence of epileptic seizures following treatment.

This treatment is not yet available in Australia, so those few who can afford it have to travel to Germany for treament.

If you think you can help or would like to donate a few dollars to Isobel, go to www.friendsofisobel.com to make donations.
